some rapper punk or whoever was just on trying to get people to donate money to the red cross. He was on with Mike Myers (Wayne's World). Mike Myers asked people to donate...then Kanye West went on a tirade about Iraq, Mike Myers said something else, and then Kanye says "GEORGE BUSH DOESN'T CARE ABOUT BLACK PEOPLE!"
WHAT A FREAKING OUTRAGE!!!!!!!!!
Kanye has a right to his opinion, but he tarnished the entire event. Does he or any of you think that statements such as that help abolish racism? or does it contribute to it?
It wasnt GW that posted pics on the Associated Press's website stating that black people where looting and white people were finding...its was the MEDIA, the ASSOCIATED PRESS. Kanye did a huge deservice to the cause. Its fine if people disagree with GW's policies, but hes is no way a racist. He has the most diversre cabinet in American Hystory.
Statements such as his set have the potential to set relations back decades.
The event was to raise money, not turn people off, and he did just that. The concert will now raise less money than hoped thanks to his little trist. And who does that effect ultimately? It wasnt the place. I cant tell you how many people i have heard say tonight that wernt going to give to the cause becuase of him...
I thought Kanye was a Christian? He needs to harken the door of a church if he feels that his behavior was anything close to christ like, as it was not.
ignorance breeds ignorance!
"That boy is mean, careless, and stupid, and that's a bad combination in a place like this." /Tom Hanks, The Green Mile
Thought this might bear repeating:
"There is (a) class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs and the hardships of the Negro race before the public.
"Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs -- partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs...
"There is a certain class of race problem-solvers who don't want the patient to get well, because as long as the disease holds out, they have not only an easy means of making a living but also an easy medium through which to make themselves prominent before the public."
--Booker T. Washington...1911. Just as applicable today.
Don't need a hurricane for that, though I see your point.
And I will be doing what I can to reference the Dumbocrats instant politicization and race-baiting vote pimping in those same elections. May Hell freeze over before any of these a-holes ever get a significant piece of power back.
Count me as one who is.
The Dems have been losing power for what 12 years now with their current strategy. If they want to continue with that same strategy I say, more power to 'em. Or rather less power to 'em in this case.
The only NBC show I really watch anymore is ER, but that turned into the latest Bash Bush, Bash Christians trype that I would be glad to tell them why I stopped watching their network.
An idiot rapper
Mike On Wednesday Rush told us this was coming and we'll see it more. Looks like you need to go back on Hannity or O'riely again.
That is guite a story!!
Its not too late to call the local affiliate today.
Agreed. I wrote back to NBC after receiving the Statement.
Complained that Matt "Lower" should have said something like it on the air instead of that "difference of opinion crap."
Also wrote to the local NBC affiliate and today@nbc.com.
They weren't allowed to enter the city per the instructions of city officials. So they set up outside as close as they could get. Same thing with Salvation Army. They have 200 people stranded in one of their centers and tried to send in a bus to rescue them; they were turned back by the city. The city has been its own worst enemy.
Actually, the question will be - Who WAS Kayne West!
Be gone, demented little man!
Can you say "publicity stunt"?
..however, Julian...you know...Julian...could be counted on to say 'Oh, I don't think that will happen'....
..Guess what, Julian, you're wrong...
I can believe LOTS of good hearted folks had their checkbooks open until they heard this racist diatribe...
..and promptly closed them.
They know no matter what they contribute in good hearted caring...
..those like Kanye will still hate President Bush and try to blame him.
I noticed that KATRINA was color blind. She did not show favoritism to anyone.
