Junior won't give up the Chase despite odds...article Dallas
FORT WORTH Dale Earnhardt Jr. came to Texas Motor Speedway Wednesday to help the Fort Worth police in advanced training for high-speed chases.
Junior drove a Corvette on the TMS road course while the cops pursued him in police cars.
"I was a little nervous about it," Earnhardt said. "But after a couple of laps I realized I had way more motor than they did. They weren't chasing after me like I was a murderer. They didn't have the hammer down, but they weren't going to catch me."

"Five of us have a chance, and I'm the guy at the bottom of that list," he said. "It's not like I have to gain 100 points on one guy. I have to gain on all them guys. But numerically we're still in it, and we're going to keep digging."
Earnhardt has studied the matter in detail. He made a calculated assessment of what it will take to get the No. 8 Budweiser Chevy into the Chase.
"If I can get a top 5 at LA and a win at Richmond, that should get me in," he said. "I don't think two top 5s is good enough because at least one of those guys ahead of me is going to get a top 5." ...
