I thought the Broncos wasted a pick when they took him where they did.

"The kid called me and let me know they're going to let him go," Feldman said in a telephone interview with The Associated Press.... The pending release marks a disappointing start to the NFL career of the troubled former Ohio State running back, who missed two years of football after leading the Buckeyes to the national title in 2002.
More like disappointing end.

He then announced that he was jumping in his car and driving to New Orleans for a tryout with the Saints..

This Buckeye won't gloat. But he gets what he deserves.

Watched the Bronco/Colts game on TV last evening. They showed Claret on the sideline, in uniform, but not playing. The comment made was that Claret was a disappointment to the Bronco staff, Coach Shanahan had talked to him, one on one, several times about his work ethic. Apparently Claret wasn't cutting it and really wasn't trying that hard. Claret, if he makes it at all in the NFL, needs to play in the European football league and maybe spend a season or two (on this side of the Atlantic) on some NFL practice squad.

Wow! His stock has taken a nosedive. From scoring the winning TD to win the national championship as a freshman to basically nothing.

Yeah, turns out you're right. Guess Shanahan had to see for himself, but it was his running backs coach (Bobby Turner) who advised Shanahan to take a chance on him. Well, this won't be Shanny's first debacle from a draft-pick. Lots of people in Ohio were hoping for Clarett to fail. Looks like they got their wish.

The NFL scouting departments are a clueless lot dependent more on hype than common sense.
