Mardi Mess
Littered looted land and sadly scattered lives
comes of misjudging nature’s heavy hammer
as an ancient levee suddenly sunders away.
Now there’s so many with something to say
after being left in a hurricane’s slammer
and now only survival instinct strives
Drowning past lifestyles now a fad these days
as the bureaucratic mess they made blooms
and the welfare state backfires on it self.
FEMA promises it has something on the shelf
amid the tattered leavings of this doom
another lesson the left forces us to pay.
