Freeping Gamers Ping!

Where did the Gamer Table go???
Well, it now resides on my homepage.  The link to it is in the Freeping Gamers Links table above.
It will take me some time but I plan on adding favorite games back into that table, along with aliases.
I'm thinking about adding a column to the Game Table (above) so that FRID(alias) can be displayed, as well as the ping list.
Unfortunately, this means most of the info for Freeping Gamers will be in two places... (double work for me.)
However, I have no problem with that if the gamer table (listing by FRID) is useful.
Please let me know what your preferences are.

Freeping Gamers Logo
I'm entertaining ideas for a new logo.  If you have an idea or base graphic, please share.
If you prefer to keep the one we have, let me know that too.

Game Title Graphics:

Also, I'm working on putting game title graphics in place of text.  I scanned the BF2 graphic
right off the box and animated the "2"(see table above).  Priority for replacing game name text with graphics will go to
the largest ping lists first. If you can help me by sharing scans or links, It would be greatly appreciated!

Freeping Gamers Visability:
This thread is only posted once a week, and promptly gets buried within minutes by new threads.
Each time I post it, about 2-3 new requests come in almost immediately, and thats about it.
All other new gamers come from referrals or people doing searches.
However, I don't believe increasing the posting frequency is the right answer.
Eventually, I would like to see this become a monthly post once our numbers are high enough.

I think the most effective way we can gain visibility is by replying to posts in other threads
where an obvious gamer exists  ("anyone else out there play _______?")
Another way is to start using the thread for what it was intended.
The gamer list for "City Of Heroes" more than doubled in two weeks, once chat traffic for that
game got started.  (They got lurkers to come out of hiding just by organizing in the thread.)

OLD THREADS
If you are hesitant about starting up a conversation because of other game traffic, keep in mind
that we now have 10 other Freeping Gamer threads that are getting ZERO traffic.
While the current thread is open to and should be used for all games, there's certainly
nothing wrong with taking side conversations to a previous week's thread.
However, if you see any traffic on old threads that needs my attention, please ping me, as I only
monitor the current thread for new gamers and updates.

Please welcome our newest gamers!...

To: Safrguns; All

Invite to all those who play Halo 2 on Xbox Live! My gamertag is SlySonikku.

I usually stick with Team Preview and Double Team, but I'll do pretty much anything; the game is THAT good.

Hey Safrguns, maybe the thing to do is to get the admins to add the link to the daily gamer thread to the main page, just like the Hobbit Hole, Freeper Canteen, etc. Then we can all just check in at will.

Hi!

Just picked up World of Warcraft over the weekend, so I guess add me to that part of your list too!

My acct name is 'PowerFights' (silly name, but my son picked it out).

I'm a fool to buy this now, when work is so busy -- I'm a gaming addict, pure and simple.
