What lessons can Kerala teach other areas about using free and open source software?

Two lessons:

1. Pro-OSS and anti-OSS zealots should really shut up and realize that they need to advocate better software, regardless of whether or not there's a pricetag associated with said quality.

2. The operating system & software market is still rapidly expanding, and further efforts should be made towards computer usability and simplicity. Use OS X for two weeks and you'll discover what that means. (Damn, do I wish Windows had self-contained applications.)

Makes sense.  When you think about it, the Consumer PC market is still in it's infancy.  Who knows what is going to happen within the next 10-15 years.  Look at the amazing growth in the last 10.
