He is actually going to NC the week after we are going to have the card-making...his family doesn't want to move to NC though, so he is actually offering to go to Iraq so his family can stay here. Homeschooling laws are very friendly here and it's why they (and we) want to stay here.

Anyway, he's scheduled to leave for NC but that may change.

It went all right, sis...it went ok. We did discuss it at length and of course I didn't like what I heard and am even more convinced that I did the right thing. She sees nothing wrong with what they did and since they had the ability to do it can't see why anyone would have a problem.

It's really very sad...I still don't even know who she is.

But we're able to look at each other and be in the same room with each other and that is the only thing I hoped for and I'm content. If I'm going to have to deal with her, I want to be able to deal with her comfortably.

But our close friendship is gone. And it was slowly fading for a long time, so that when this hubbub came, there was nothing left to hold on to...if that makes any sense. I turned to my friend, and found her gone and I don't even know exactly when she left.

There's a lot of sadness in that 2J. More time will tell where it will end up.

I'm at the library. You know Steve comes home at 5:30pm now and he's home all weekend...so I have to come to the library to check my email...which is ok, because Matthew had some books he wanted to check out.

I gotta go home now, though...

She's not the same person, Hair...she's got "power" now...or think she does...over a large group of women and who am I to question her? Who am I? I'm not much apparently.

Unfortunately, I'm used to railing against that opinion, both from others and inside myself! LOL!! She never expected such a battle, I don't think.

I may not be much but I wield a mean box fan! LOL

I do believe the part about her being surprised at your reaction. I believe she never considered this would be a big deal, and I might imagine, would have second thoughts about doing it had she known.

But, it's not ~just~ a power outage.

It may be she's all fine and back home and just simply hasn't had time to call. My guess is though that she's just got her hands full with other stuff and isn't able to call.

I'm inclined to think the latter since it's not in her nature to not call.

There are all kinds of reasons why it just wouldn't be practical now.
