Now that's pretty nice!
Yeah, that was one of the things that encouraged me to stick with them even when they cut me back to part time for a while.
They even got a tranquilizer for the second attempt, but she was meaner drunk than sober.
They need falconry gloves.
I told them to go borrow one of those control noose sticks from the pound. He didn't like that idea, but I'm not sure he has a choice.
Is Josie a tortoise shell, by any chance?
Just curious...the few I've known have been...um...cranky, to say the least. Why coloration should matter, I dunno.
Oh dear... make sure you don't show him the Pinky the Cat video.
Oh man... That's Josie! Poor thing. You can't just put a leash on a cat.
I like cats, but I just won't risk going near Josie. You can see the hate in her eyes.
She scares me.
Something interesting has come to my attention lately...
Connected DataProtector, recently acquired by Iron Mountain. They have an interesting approach that I'm looking into. It's intriguing.
They have an interesting solution for backup of not just servers, but desktops and laptops as well... all over the slow wire.
The cool thing about their storage model is that they discriminate unique instances of any file, and only store one of them across all users. Changes are handled at the disk block level, not the file level.
They advertise that the average max change at the block level for most users is only ever about 2 to 4 MB per user per day. An amount that is trivial to keep backed up over even the slowest of wires.
It's a distinctly interesting option.
I don't have any pics of her.... she's a fairly flat grey color.. maybe a little tiger striping.
That was a pretty convincing screech he did ;~D
That really sounds cool. I wonder if retrieving backups is a pain? At work, we get a lot of requests for "the file the way it was in August" or whatnot, so we have a hundred days of stored backups plus quarterly dump-everythings. But backups are such a pain... I'm on this weekend and of course it's homecoming so I can barely even get there Saturday. Grr.
Or at least elbow-length oven mitts. :-)
Why, fertheluvvagod, where they trying to take her to the vet? That's a suicide mission.
DO NOT try to transport her in a car. I've tried to make this clear before. She will chew her way out of any enclosure, and she'll be under the brake pedal before I could say I told you so...
Well folks, it's been a long day. I'm gonna go get ready for bed before South Park starts.
G'night!
Donna got a cat carrier... she can't chew through it, though I imagine she can project fluids out of it when she does her little Linda Blair ;~D
She has to see the vet... she has a sore of some kind on her back, like she's been chewing and there's a big matt of hair over it. They can't even touch it. They'll have to knock her out at the vets and see what's up with it.
Apparently... retrieving backups or restoring a whole laptop is pretty easy. Part of their model is that if a user has their laptop stolen, the IT department can get a suitable replacement ready and completely restored with the users' files on it, up to the day it was stolen.
Pretty cool, that.
On my way ;~D
Oh, geez...
The only answer is to totally put her out. She'll be a whirling dirvish when they open that cage. God help us all. :-)
On the other hand, it'd make an interesting horror movie.
The cat that shredded Seattle...or whatevertown.
