HBO's Six Feet Under Ends In Emotional Drama

Hollywood,California (AHN)-The series finale for the hit HBO series "Six Feet Under" airs Sunday night in an emotional climax that is destined to go down as a television classic.

With the Fisher family in turmoil after the passing of character "Nate" in the previous 2-episodes, the series' final episode left no stone unturned.

The episode showed the family going in seperate yet emotionally closer directions, giving viewers in the closing moments of the show a telescopic view into how each character lived their lives and wound up in death in a cinematic and sometimes humorous yet tearful view of how it all ended for the cast. The scenes were played out to the haunting music of Sia and her song "Breathe Me".

The funeral home remains intact as subtle messages of the importance of family and love are put on display to make the circle of life complete.

"Six Feet Under" wraps up after 5 successful seasons on HBO with numerous Emmy awards and nominations.

My prediction came true, too... they killed all the characters in the final episode.

No they didn't. You see each character's death in the future, some very far in the future. Because death will come to everyone, eventually. Not the same as "killing off" the characters.

we should have a TV entertainment show section that can be ignored here at FR.

These entertainment promotion threads are as annoying as the pointless vanities.

the anti Pres Bush jabs constantly left me irritated..

They never bothered me. I figured the rest of the character's life was screwed nine ways to sunday, so why wouldn't they be hard-core liberals? I truly believe in Ronald Reagan's dicta that liberals know so much that isn't so...

Every main character died during the show, as a result of what the writers wrote. The writers killed every character.

Past, present, future, what's the difference? 6FU always played fast and loose with chronology.

There is more to life than elections and politics. I am always interested in reactions of Freepers on these threads. It's very revealing who is closed off to the arts, and who is open. Life would be pretty dry and dull, and maybe intolerable, if we could not avail overselves of the comfort, insight, release and beauty of art.

It is totally within the theme of the show to extrapolate out in time to show the deaths of the main characters. AND their lost loved ones waiting to greet them. The episode was called "Everyone's Waiting." A double entendre.

The entertainment threads are as irritating to you as the incessant religious threads. So skip the thread, that is what I do.

It is fiction, thus are you surprised that things aren't like in real life where we do not see the futures. We got a treat at the end, sight into the futures. "fast and loose with chronology",,so what. It is a tv show.

left out that the religious threads irritate me so I skip them.

Lately I have been saying that people on this site insist that all is political,,just like the dems saying the personal is political. It really does get on my nerves.

Then I remember, it is a political site. I think I need another site to discuss news, the arts, books, etc. I get tired of the lock step bullying political types here.

There are FReepers who are into books, art, TV, movies. Certainly The Passion of the Christ engendered much debate here. No dummy, that Mel Gibson. He linked the movie with politics.

hang in there, cajungirl. There's so many interesting topics discussed here, most of them are posted appropriately so you can find them and chime in, or ignore them if you like. Politics is what binds us together, and the other "stuff"?
That's how we keep our sanity.

Can we be as cool as you and make enlightening posts such as yours all the time? I mean yeah...let's just stick to politics 24-7...cause Lord knows there is nothing else in life right?

This is a forum for Conservative thinking people to post what they want to on it,last I checked...TV shows and live events have the highest thread counts of any subject matter on FR.

An entertainment topic would be useful as a means of sorting out these types of threads.

and yes FR is first and formost a political forum.

I always get the impression that these promotional threads are just hired trolls as an effort to promote the TV shows.

The show's really a dark comedy. As long you don't take it too seriously, its enjoyable. Alan Ball really delivered something unique and people who've seen it will realize its alright to talk about our reactions to death and dying openly. We're liberated about sex and we place such an emphasis on youth we don't realize that one day we all face the inevitable. Its part of human nature.

What a load! You trying to say you've never seen any of the people on this thread before? You're just making excuses for your own petulance.

Wow, I'm just now watching it on Bravo for the first time, and I still don't know what happened to Nate and Brenda?? Can you update me? I read some episode summaries somewhere recently but they were so vague and I couldn't get any answer. Appreciate it, if you have time.
