He comes from that kind of background and it's hard to change after so long, he's just a curious creature. Sometimes I recoil at what he says yes, but then am thrilled when I see him witness and tell guys that thier Dads, and they need to act like Dads and be there for thier kids ...
I am from the islands and I watch his show. It reminds me of all the places I grew up at and where most of my friends grew up. In the back villages in Hawaii where you do not often see on tv. He has respect for my people even though he is looking for them when they are bad. That is why the locals do not turn on him. He has respect.
