Throw MSM 'real reporting' out of the window. Throw it far far away. The Fourth Estate is now a tool of manipulation and brainwashing for the Dems/Marxists and of investigation and condemnation for the Conservatives.
The MSM is used to, spin this, spike that and get-out-in-front-of all the rest.
They've earned the surname:PRAVDA
So-and-so reporting, ABC News-Pravda
So-and-so reporting, CBS News-Pravda
So-and-so reporting, NBC News-Pravda
etc.
Part 2 of post:
What's your favorite show(s) on Fox?
Mine are:
1. Special Report w/Brit Hume
If there's one place to get all the info I need on the big story of the day (sorry John Gibson), SRwBH is it.
He'll have on "THE" guest to talk about it. For instance, I have been lax in keeping up with the Isreali eviction of settlers and today the substituting Brian Wilson had on Dennis Ross as a guest. He's great. Now I'm up to speed with that issue.
Last week's topic was the issue of the NYT trying to unseal the adoption records of John Roberts' children. Brit was visibly and justifibly, um, how can I say this...PISSED at the depths of the NYT's reprehension. Cici Connelly tried to smooth it over and rationalize the NYT's actions but Mr. Hume would have no part of it. Great TV!
The other thing I like about SRwBH is its old-timey format. By that I mean he has 1. the lead story reports (excellent reporters), 2. Segment with "THE" guest, 3. A jambalaya of off-beat and gotcha stories called, 'The Grapevine,' 4. Very, very good discussions on two topics and 5. Always ends his show with a, 'Finally Today...' segement showing a humorous clip from a previous night's late night show or a captured goof by an official.
Information, entertainment, variety, intelligence. That's Special Report w/Brit Hume to me.
2. News Watch
I just enjoy tv with intelligence.
Having said that, I wish Jim Pinkerton (the real meaning of brilliant) would lean over and bitch-slap that pinko Gabler because Gabler many times hurries to step all over whatever excellent point Mr. Pinkerton is making.
Again, you come away actually intellectually satiated.
3. Fox & Friends
Just having un-forced fun while producing the guests.
Just curious as to what yours is (are).
Best 2-hour financial block on the weekend. Schtick and Stocks.
Simpsons
Whoops wrong fox
"Special Report w/Brit Hume" is basically the only thing I watch on Fox. The Leprechaun is obnoxious, Hannity/Combs have no credibility. Shep is smarmy. Fox-and-Friends irritate me. For breaking news, Fox has been pretty poor historically. I usually have to check CNN or ABCNews. If it's a political story, however, it's Brit and Co. all the way since Mr. Brinkley's dead.
Special Report w/Brit Hume
Hannity & Colmes
Fox & Friends
DITTOES!!!!!!!!!!!!
Btw, the vanity and misc tags must've gotten lost in the shuffle of preview/edit back-and-forth.
Special Report is the only show on Fox I make a point of watching. I think Brian Williams does a pretty good job of sitting in for Brit. Can't stand Shep Smith so I don't watch him. I only turn on O'Reilly if he is going to have someone on that I want to see, but for the most part he irritates the crap out of me.
Won't anyone include the O'Reilly Factor? Maybe they have. Have not finished thread. I find his show entertaining and informative. It's not necessary to agree with him all the time. I know many will disagree with this: but he is a lot more conservative than liberal and a good American.
"Arrested Development"
Funniest show since "Seinfeld."
