Jr was practicing at Bristol yesterday in the 81 and crashed. Brought out the backup and continued practice. Reporters mobbing him unmercifully regarding his chances for the Chase.

Speaking of predictions, I've got some tin-foil ones:

- The next incident (either on-track or off-track) involving Smoke will result in a 1-weekend parking, even if he's the victim (there's a reason why Jimmy Spencer, a previous victim of this philosophy, is in the #66 this weekend after all).

- There will be at least one seizing of the #20 car after tech inspection; it will be blamed by the conspiratorialists as further help for Toyota.

Wallace brothers update -

• Frim Jayski - Mike is not necessarily out of the #4. The John Andretti experiment at Michigan is to see what's wrong with the team, and both Larry McClure (head honcho at Morgan-McClure) and Mike say he'll be back in the car at Bristol.
• Frim Kenny's site - the "temporary" split with Michael Waltrip Racing is because of the fact that AutoZone and NAPA are competitors. Also, the effort for this weekend has been "outsourced" to Bill Davis Racing (sounds like payback for the abortive Pepsi 400 effort, where MWR gave Kenny Wallace to the BDR #23).
