3.1 had net access - I used Netscape. I dumped 95 because there was no USB support. XP administratorship allows me to keep the kids from destroying what I've set up. Haven't had a hitch with it... It's big, but hardware is nearly free these days.

I changed to 95 before TCP/IP Net access became big.
Up until I started getting failing hardware (first a hard drive and now it seems a power supply), I liked XP.

You could've settled for 95SR2 for very limited USB support, or tried to find the very-limited 95SR2.5 for better USB support.
Of course, by then, everybody was abandoning 95 altogether.
