Personally? Who cares...

another case of overpaid washed up tv stars who retired from where they made thier millions, now looking for flashes of fame and a place to either launder of make more money on thier namesakes

remember Kenny Bernstien?

When he got too old to be competetive, saw a team rapidly swirling down the tube, and bailed Bodine out by buying the #26 Quaker State team and put Steve Kinser, STEVE KINSER?! in it...

did Kinser actually ever finish 1 race???

at least Kinser was smart enough to go back where he new what he was doing...

Bernstien probably saved millions in taxes, cause he sure didn't do Winston cup any good...

these guys should leave oval track racing to oval track racers.

or do ya the DW might buy a football team?

inquiring minds want to know...

but I could care less.

IMO

I want to go out your way to see the off road truck racing. Antigo is one of them, if I recall. I'll bring out some good Cabot's Vermont cheddar cheese for you, too.

Point taken, however even oval track guys like the Petty outfit & the Wood Brothers aren't having much of a go at things in the last decade.

I guess my point is you really need the talented people and cubic dollars to run top 10 consistently. If you have those, you are good to go, if not, you are #43, or worse, #45. (No disparaging of The King intended in this post.)

I do understand what you mean.

I'm probably just zionked that the sport of racing has gotten lost in the job of advertising racing.

they take guys like Jr. and Gordon and whore them for every drop of sales they can, even to the point of soap operaizing (I just created a new word!) thier lives in home life coverage, give me a break!

to diversify the sport they've recruited names instead of talent.

anything for the almighty dollar.

not to mention the pc

those of us that hear not to mention use the occasional expletive are having a rough(er) time watching the sport "pretty up" so that any 5 year old child can watch.

swearing and good behavior not to be diminished, didn't they make cartoons for that audience?

maybe I'm out of line, but thats what I think.

sorry

Kevin Lepage is now available - Jayski has him fired and Tony Raines replacing him in the #37. Speaking of Michigan oddities, John Andretti is in the #4 usually driven by Mike Wallace (no word on whether it's a 1-week deal or a replacement), Jimmy Spencer is in the #66 (that was previously-known; don't know what is happening with regular driver Mike Garvey), Johnny Benson will be replacing Kenny Wallace in the #100 starting this weekend (Kenny moved on to the forming Furniture Row Racing Cup team after the entry list went out), Eric McClure returns to the #92, and Carl Long will likely be putting the #46 on his car (he's entered in the #200, but Michael Waltrip Racing has first dibs on the #00).

Stewart, Kyle Busch fined for incidents at Watkins Glen
August 16, 2005

DAYTONA BEACH, Florida (Ticker) - Tony Stewart's temper put a blemish on his near perfect weekend at Watkins Glen International.

On Tuesday, NASCAR fined Stewart $5,000 and Kyle Busch $10,000 for hitting the car of another driver following the completion of races in Watkins Glen over the weekend. Both drivers were placed on probation until December 31.

Driving the No. 33 Chevrolet Monte Carlo owned by Kevin Harvick in Saturday's Busch Series Zippo 200, Stewart made contact with Brian Vickers' Chevrolet after finishing fourth.

On Sunday, Stewart led a track-record 83 of 92 laps to win the Sirius Satellite Radio at the Glen from the pole for his fifth win in the last seven premier series races. However, at the conclusion of that event, Busch rammed Anthony Lazzaro's Dodge Charger to avenge previous contact.

Busch, the younger brother of defending Nextel Cup champion Kurt Busch, is 20th in the standings to lead all premier series rookies.

Also on Tuesday, NASCAR fined Lance Deiters, crew chief for the No. 83 Busch Series Chevrolet driven by Wally Dallenbach, $2,500 for an unapproved third gear transmission ratio. Dallenbach finished 34th on Saturday.

Wait a minute! After Smoke bumped Vickers in the side after crossing the finish line, Vickers hit Smoke at least 3 times pushing him off the track. Where is his penalty?

That tape was rewound several times by us and that is exactly how it looked.

Sounds good, can I be on your pitcrew?

I can be the one that hands you water and does window tearoffs. :)

I hear ya!

This year has been the worst yet, with all the car and rule changes.

There's more and more stress put on the drivers and the teams with all the contract jumping. Plus, I think this Chase deal has made everything so much more competitive that they are all spending more and more money which was one thing they tried not to do by implementing the stupid impound rule.

These new football 'teams' may wind up being fancy field fillers after all is said and done. They have too much money to throw around I guess.

Both drivers were placed on probation until December 31.

Do they race sleighs in December?

What they are not telling us is that Smoke is on "double-secret probation." ;-)

They need to dock him about a 100 points now. That would put Jeff into the Chase and bring Jr within striking distance.

Better watch how loud I say that!
