Barbarella 'sexiest sci-fi character'

Barbarella has been named the sexiest sci-fi character of all time.

The inter-galactic babe, played by Jane Fonda in the 1968 film, topped the poll by influential movie magazine 'Film Review' because of her sexy opening scenes.

The magazine said: "Getting dressed in zero gravity has never looked as good as in the opening sequence of this classic sci-fi film."

Fitness guru Jane Fonda, who played the role when she was 31, beat off competition from more recent characters, including 'Alien' star Sigourney Weaver and 'Matrix' beauty Carrie Anne Moss, to win the accolade.

The magazine described the chart-topping character as: "A sixties icon who was sweetness itself, and yet also the sexiest screen heroine ever to sport a transparent plastic vest."

Other stars nominated in the poll included 'Fifth Element' babe Milla Jovovich, who came second, and 'Terminator 3' star Kristanna Loken, who was voted in third place.

'Star Wars' beauty Carrie Fisher, who played screen siren Princess Leia in the cult hit nearly thirty years ago, also made it into the top 10.

Top Ten Sci-Fi babes:

1. Barabarella, Jane Fonda

2. Leeloo, Milla Jovovich, 'The Fifth Element'

3. T-X, Kritanna Loken, 'Terminator 3'

4. Princess Leia, Carrie Fisher, 'Star Wars'

5. Trinity, Carrie Anne Moss, 'The Matrix'

6. Maria, Bridget Helm, 'Metropolis'

7. Zhora, Joanna Cassidy, 'Blade Runner'

8. Sil, Natasha Henstridge, 'Species'

9. Vaako, Thandie Newton, 'The Chronicles of Riddick'

10. Ripley, Sigourney Weaver, 'Alien'

Yup... There's something sexy about a woman who finds shooting large guns to be relaxing.

The problem is with the word "sexy." Trinity did not come across as "sexy" to me. OTOH, one of my favorite characters was the beautiful Taarna from "Heavey Metal," but she was more warrior "slash and kill" than "sexy".

But I liked both Eva Haberman (Top) and Xenia Seeberg (Bottom) from LEXX.

True that.

I mean....with Seven of Nine, you always know where you stand. No excitement. Fairly unemotional. Probably a technical whiz in the bedroom....but...

With Aeryn Sun...she is Passionate. She's like a 2 hour ride on a rollercoaster. A definite "E" ticket to Disneyworld.

Gotta say that no female has repulsed me in a movie role more than Sigourney sweating in a white t-shirt with her head shaved. *Shudder*

Sienna Guillory in Resident Evil: Apocalypse, the only imaginable reason to see this turkey. Now suddenly the picture won't link. Oh well. (Oh, yeah, the futuristic building featured toward the end was Toronto's City Hall, built back in the 60's).

Ditto on Claudia Black (Farscape, SG1), "Sarge" from Cleopatra 2525 (also Firefly),"Romy" from andromeda (now on SG1), Ditto on Fith element, Dianna Troi, and a few others.

Sexy isn't really without some class. (Dumberella is in the "looks" class of "Thor" from SG1).

"Chicks don't watch sci-fi (other than lezbos)??"
