Barbarella has been named the sexiest sci-fi character of all time.
The inter-galactic babe, played by Jane Fonda in the 1968 film, topped the poll by influential movie magazine 'Film Review' because of her sexy opening scenes.
The magazine said: "Getting dressed in zero gravity has never looked as good as in the opening sequence of this classic sci-fi film."
Fitness guru Jane Fonda, who played the role when she was 31, beat off competition from more recent characters, including 'Alien' star Sigourney Weaver and 'Matrix' beauty Carrie Anne Moss, to win the accolade.
The magazine described the chart-topping character as: "A sixties icon who was sweetness itself, and yet also the sexiest screen heroine ever to sport a transparent plastic vest."
Other stars nominated in the poll included 'Fifth Element' babe Milla Jovovich, who came second, and 'Terminator 3' star Kristanna Loken, who was voted in third place.
'Star Wars' beauty Carrie Fisher, who played screen siren Princess Leia in the cult hit nearly thirty years ago, also made it into the top 10.
Top Ten Sci-Fi babes:
1. Barabarella, Jane Fonda
2. Leeloo, Milla Jovovich, 'The Fifth Element'
3. T-X, Kritanna Loken, 'Terminator 3'
4. Princess Leia, Carrie Fisher, 'Star Wars'
5. Trinity, Carrie Anne Moss, 'The Matrix'
6. Maria, Bridget Helm, 'Metropolis'
7. Zhora, Joanna Cassidy, 'Blade Runner'
8. Sil, Natasha Henstridge, 'Species'
9. Vaako, Thandie Newton, 'The Chronicles of Riddick'
10. Ripley, Sigourney Weaver, 'Alien'
I know, I should see it. Maybe around Halloween time. I'm probably the only person who hasn't seen it.
Thank you for the posting of Katee Sackoff...I am apparantly a complete moron at posting photos.
Ivanova? Trump's first wife?
I'd tell you all about Ripley in her undies, but I don't want to ruin it for ya! LOL
No problem...
Here's a website that helped me out a lot.
http://snowwhite.it.brighton.ac.uk/~mas/mas/courses/html/html1.html
She's ethnically Italian and Brazilian. That explains some things. ;-)
I am. Unless the pubbies put up a pro abortion candidate.
No, that Ivana or something. Susan Ivanova, played by Claudia Christian, was a truly cool and sexy character. She got lots of good lines, such as "No boom today, boom tomorrow. There's always a boom tomorrow."
Unfortunately, she porked out a bit after B5. Still pretty good looking, though
I can think of several others who should go above Jane...In no particular order...
Lexa Doig, Andromeda and Stargate: SG-1
Claudia Christian, Babylon 5
Tracy Scoggins, Babylon 5
Teri Hatcher, Lois & Clark
Gina Torres, Firefly, Serenity, The Matrix Reloaded, The Matrix Revolutions, Cleopatra 2525
Lynda Carter, Wonder Woman
Grace Park, Battlestar Galactica
Katee Sackhoff, Battlestar Galactica
Rachel Luttrell, Stargate Atlantis
Ashley Scott, Birds of Prey, AI, Dark Angel
Dina Meyer, Star Trek Nemesis, Birds of Prey, Starship Troopers, Johnny Mnemonic
I could go on, but you get the picture...
OMG, I'm am such a geek!

Just damn.
If you want on the list, FReepmail me. This IS a high-volume PING list...
Claudia Black should be up there.
Yikes, you reminded me of one left off the list
Jessica Alba: Dark Angel, Fantastic 4
Claudia Black should be Top 5 and Fonda shouldn't even be on the list.
Who was the babe on Buck Rogers?
She romped all over Hanoi Jane.
Xena ping!
Bump :-D
Getting better...Still, I'm amazed that I couldn't find any high quality pictures from The Fifth Element.

Yep...
Yep, another one...
