Barbarella has been named the sexiest sci-fi character of all time.
The inter-galactic babe, played by Jane Fonda in the 1968 film, topped the poll by influential movie magazine 'Film Review' because of her sexy opening scenes.
The magazine said: "Getting dressed in zero gravity has never looked as good as in the opening sequence of this classic sci-fi film."
Fitness guru Jane Fonda, who played the role when she was 31, beat off competition from more recent characters, including 'Alien' star Sigourney Weaver and 'Matrix' beauty Carrie Anne Moss, to win the accolade.
The magazine described the chart-topping character as: "A sixties icon who was sweetness itself, and yet also the sexiest screen heroine ever to sport a transparent plastic vest."
Other stars nominated in the poll included 'Fifth Element' babe Milla Jovovich, who came second, and 'Terminator 3' star Kristanna Loken, who was voted in third place.
'Star Wars' beauty Carrie Fisher, who played screen siren Princess Leia in the cult hit nearly thirty years ago, also made it into the top 10.
Top Ten Sci-Fi babes:
1. Barabarella, Jane Fonda
2. Leeloo, Milla Jovovich, 'The Fifth Element'
3. T-X, Kritanna Loken, 'Terminator 3'
4. Princess Leia, Carrie Fisher, 'Star Wars'
5. Trinity, Carrie Anne Moss, 'The Matrix'
6. Maria, Bridget Helm, 'Metropolis'
7. Zhora, Joanna Cassidy, 'Blade Runner'
8. Sil, Natasha Henstridge, 'Species'
9. Vaako, Thandie Newton, 'The Chronicles of Riddick'
10. Ripley, Sigourney Weaver, 'Alien'

When Hillary Says She's Going To Put The Military On Our Borders...She Becomes Our Next President What is unsaid: They will be there to ensure taxpayers don't leave. She needs to fund her socialist utopian village.

Well...Raquel should have asked me 35 years ago. So I could die happy. Instead of living to see Hillary become President in '08. Thanks for nuthin', Raq!

I don't read comic books no...but
I do have a "I'm a heroine with a very bad man/thing chasing me that I will ultimately have to destroy..(but with a hint of pleasure)"side to me
Ok weird but if most women are truthful..they would agree with me
maybe I shared to much :)

I think they totally left out Starbuck from the current Battlestar Galactica series. Hot stuff.
And I agree with Mila Jo..Joo...that hot chick from 5th element.

I caught a three day suspension for a questionable post, so I'm still a little gunshy, but do a google image search on Marina Sirtis and look what the first image is.
And if anybody asks, I didn't suggest you doing it.

And everyone has left out this stunning young lady...

Inara on Firefly is played by Morena Baccarin

Obviously these guys have never watch any good sci-fi Japanese anime/american animation...

It'll always be Yeoman Rand for me. How long did it take her to do her hair every morning? :)
To: PaulaB
Nope,
one of the coolest lines I read in a book recently, in describing the heroine was that "She had dreams and fantasies that were extremely unPC and would cause feminists to cry in dismay" ;)
Ah,
