No particular place, but probably either fries I had in Italy (fried in olive oil), or in Germany (where I believe they fry 'em in lard). And I like them with malt vinegar and lots of salt rather than ketchup - or mayo, which is what they generally gave ya in Germany.

I've gotten to really like them with salt and vinegar. I don't know why I never tried it earlier in life (probably because I was a ketchup fiend), but I know what I missed now!

The best fries I ever had were in the Lowenbrau Keller in Munich back in 1948 The bier might have helped.The best I get around are from Five Guys. I never had Chick A fil's. I'll have to try them.
