Rain has slowed to a mist; MRN turning things over to their local affiliates for about 45 minutes.

No need for raingear, you don't fish in the rain, might get wet.

We got jet-driers on the wings, and Randy LaJoie on the TV.

That was funny.

The guy doing the interview said to tell Jr he needs a bigger umbrella next time his contract is due.

The fans are hysterical with chairs, coolers, popcorn boxes and other various things on their heads.

Heh; I got my first muskie in a driving downpour (44", heavy SOB, and I was looking for walleyes).

Sounds familiar. I had the benefit of borrowing the tents in the pits.

Smoke on now teasing the pit reporter.

When I was a kid, I caught about 30 speckled trout in the pouring rain. Then had to get them all back about 6 blocks to the house. Some were already scaled when we arrived from dragging them on the road.

Those were back in the days of a good-sized bag limit, I'll bet.

Smoke now asking for a ladder for tomorrow.

I don't think NASCAR will let him carry a ladder; besides, it wouldn't fit in the glove box Alan Kulwicki made famous.

WEST ALLIS, Wis. (AP) Helio Castroneves has no problem with NASCAR's Tony Stewart stealing his post-victory fence-climbing celebration.

Stewart has one-upped Castroneves a bit after his last two victories, at Daytona and New Hampshire, climbing the fence to the flagstand. But it was Castroneves, the IRL's Spiderman, who first made fence-climbing a victory celebration.

It was June 18, 2000, when the Brazilian driver won a CART race in Detroit. Castroneves was so overcome with emotion that he forgot to pull into the pits and instead stopped on the front straight. When he saw all the fans cheering, he went and scaled the fence to celebrate with them.

No limit. There were times when neighbor would take his son, brother and I. We'd bring home 200 trout between us. Maybe that's why there are limits now. ;)

I missed the ladder and fence sale at Home Depot!

What did he have in the glove box?

A comb and his sunglasses (see the Underbird site (run by the folks that have the Winston-Cup-winning Underbird) for more details.

Looks like the rain's stopped.

To: SouthTexas; All

Just got to thinking after watching the Allstate commercial how many of us support the Nascar sponsors.

I see Advil there sweeping the puddles and I have Allstate Ins.

He wasn't smiling when he didn't have the mike, but then he got it, and his smile, back.
