Well, for Pete's sake if I can't pick Flash who?? Wahhhh lol
Oh well, instead of working on my team I've been checking out the photos over at Schraders M&M's Night Of Stars from last night here
I see pics of SlowCasey, Schrader, Kenny, Truex, flipper, Blaney, Hamilton and Jr (in street clothes) because since last years Sonoma accident he's not allowed to drive anything other than his Cup and Busch cars.

Night Of Stars report......
The race was a hoot. Experienced guys and guys with little idea of what they were doing. Spencer managed to scrape the wall twice during hot laps and his car wasn't able to start the race. You could really tell from the lines the drivers were taking through the corners which ones actually know how to drive dirt. You can't drive around the corners at a dirt track, certainly not the high banks of Pevely, you have to slide around and have your car pointed correctly when you're done to attack the next straightaway. Not everyone figured that out or was able to be consistent. They ran 8 laps, inverted the field, then 8 more. Martin managed to spin in the first half, though without hitting anything, and finished that half last, which meant he started on the pole for the second half. He actually managed to lead two laps before being passed by guys who knew what they were doing. Experienced guys won both halves -- Edwards the first and Kenny Wallace the second. We did get a backflip (taking off and landing on the track surface) from Carl. Kenny announced that he had his own signature move to introduce ...
...
...
the "dirt roll" somersault! He is a character! I must admit that I couldn't see that area of the frontstretch due to the people crowding the fence, but the response was cheers.
Dale did a gr8 job with the flags -- but of course. He mentioned afterwards that this was the first time he'd flagged a race, but he handled it like a pro. 1-to-go signal, green flag, caution flag, restart with the green, white, and checkered. Then the same in the second half, except for a caution. He looked like he was having a blast, and we did get that wonderful grin of his as he cheered Martin onward as they started the pace laps. That certainly seemed more fun for him than power-signing. Needed no help from Pevely's regular flagman, except to reach for the white and checkered flags from where they hang. The announcer teased him about not being impartial, since he was cheering on Martin.

One of our boys works at the Auto Zone headquarters in Memphis. They are going to be unveiling the 23 car for Kenny Wallace in the NASCAR/Busch series. Eddie our boy is going to do the unveiling.

RE: FRFL and picking Gordon this week
It seems none of you are "getting it."
You know when there is a late yellow and the followers do the opposite of the leader? "If he stays out, they come in; If he comes in, they stay out." That is what this week's strategy is in the FRFL -- it is like a late yellow.
The leaders are going to take Gordon. It is the time for those of us in the back of the pack to try and make up ground by picking someone else. . . .or remain behind the leaders.

"One of our boys works at the Auto Zone headquarters in Memphis. They are going to be unveiling the 23 car for Kenny Wallace in the NASCAR/Busch series. Eddie our boy is going to do the unveiling."That is so fabulous. Please have him pass along to the Auto Zone folks that Kenny has a lot of fans who were so happy to see him get this sponsor.
And, we will definitely do our shopping there when we need auto parts. Nascar fans always support their drivers sponsors and Kenny Wallace is probably one of the most popular drivers.

Thanks!! he is a financial analyst in the retail division. It will make him really happy to know that the fans are supporting Auto Zone. BTW Eddie is a big Dale Jarrett fan even though he used to work for Fed Ex. Loyalty to the driver since Gibbs Racing days.

You may want to check out
this article from my local paper (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel) the other day on Smoke and his move back to Indiana. Just a quick taste of it - "And then there is Tony Stewart, the model citizen of Columbus, Ind., who'll let the neighbor's dog out or lunch at the Moose Lodge as just another member of the community in which he grew up."

The weekly dose of selective news from
Jayski -
- Brian France, thinking that racing isn't adequately covered in the nation's newspapers, is looking at creating NASCAR's own news service for papers, TV and radio stations.
- Speed plans to launch a weekly "Chase" series the Thursday after the Chevy Rock & Roll 400 (which ends the regular season).
- Bobby Labonte joined Dale Jarrett in testing the new Monte Carlo SS (yes, it's the SS; more on that in a bit) and Ford Fusion (respectively) at Atlanta Motor Speedway Monday. Labonte noticed no changes in the track itself.
- Announcements at Indy, part one - Arnold Motorsports is scheduled to announce a sponsor for the #50 being driven by Jimmy Spencer Saturday.
- Paul Tracy (2003 Champ Car champ and 2nd in the series this year) will test August 8-9 at Michigan in the #33 RCR Cup Chevy in preparation for the August Michigan race.
- Speaking of open-car "party-crashers", former Formula 1 driver Johnny Herbert has expressed an interest in becoming a 40+-year-old NASCAR rookie.
- Word is that the Morgan-McClure #4 team will replace Mike Wallace with a road-course ringer at Watkins Glen, either Brian Simo (who drove the #33 at Sonoma) or PJ Jones (a literal last-second replacement for Wallace there and mostly running the #34). Guess that means the 5-race deal that Mach One Racing has with PEO Pros that starts at Indy doesn't cover Watkins Glen.
- Kurt Busch and associate sponsor Crown Royal are teaming up for a "Safe Rides Home program in downtown Indy tonight (they've got 10 Fords painted up like the Crown Royal car-one driven by Kurt, and will be taking lucky bar-hoppers back home).
- The Wood Brothers won't be a 2-car team in 2006, but depending on Ricky Rudd, may well be one in 2007.
- al baby special - Dick Trickle will be at the Governor's Cup Stock Car race at the Milwaukee Mile.
- Announcements at Indy, part 2 - Ray Evernham and Kasey Kahne are scheduled to announce plans for Evernham Motorsports in 2006 and beyond Saturday morning.
- Undaunted by their defeat in court in the Kasey Kahne case and a possible court case surrounding the circumstances of Michel Jourdain Jr., Ford Racing has announced a female driver development program with Clorox and ST Motorsports (sponsor and Busch home of Jon Wood; guess the Wood Brothers better figure something out quick).
- Speaking of the Chevy Monte Carlo SS, it was officially announced today, and the street version of the SS will receive special styling that makes it look more like the race car than other Monte Carlos as well as a V-8.
And from
BGNRacing.com -
- FitzBradshaw will put Carlos Contreras (who drove for them in Mexico City) in the #40 Busch car at Watkins Glen.
- Speaking of the #40, Scott Lagasse won't be back in the ride he had been sharing with Sterling Marlin before the shakeup at FitzBradshaw, but that he's still on Ganassi's radar screen.
- Speaking of Ganassi, Kevin Hamilin not only turned his one-race shot in the #4 Biagi Brothers Dodge into a shared ride for the rest of the season with Jeff Green, but he also landed a development contract with Chip Ganassi Racing.
- AJ Foyt IV (er, make that Anthony Foyt), an IRL vet, hopes to have a few races in Busch this year and a full-time ride next year with Ray Evernham. Meanwhile, uncle Larry is allegedly close to a full-time Busch sponsorship for 2006. (maybe they can swap Animal Stories in the garage after they don't qualify :-) </humor_classic-Chicago>

Flipping through the channels, I ran into birthday boy Kurt Busch over on Fox Sports Net's
"Best Damn Sports Show Period" (video available at
MSN Video; search for "Birthday Busch"). Kurt will become the second NASCAR driver this year (the first was fellow birthday boy Jeff Gordon) to sing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" at Wrigley Field during the 7th inning stretch Tuesday afternoon against the Cincinnati Reds (game starts at 1:20 pm Central). For those with WGN on their cable/satellite boxes, they
WILL be carrying the game, and they always carry the 7th-inning stretch.
