Amen.
Lights out on the pace truck; 1 to go. They kick AJ Fike 2 spots back for unapproved changes.

RE: Busch Qualifying at IRP
For those who do not know, cloud cover came out for the last ten drivers, and that made all the difference.
RE: NASCAR Penalizing JJ
The conspiratorially inclined may now begin discussing NASCAR wanting to tighten the race to the Chase.
Speaking of conspiracies.....
Did anyone else notice last week at St. Louis that when Truex, Jr. needed a caution to get back on the lead lap, Menard spun out without hitting anyone or the wall? Things that make you go "Hmmm...."

Hadn't thought about the conspiracy issue with JJ!
A chain was hanging too far down, suuuure.

Tracy Hines on the move; up to 3rd, but the front 2 (Sorenson, Stremme) are running away with it.

Mikey was interviewed today and said he had meetings next week and is pretty sure he can announce where he is going by Watkins Glen or shortly thereafter. Mayfield was sitting next to him and said "oh yeah you only have '11' steps to go to get there"

Rusty and Dave Despain discussed this on Wind Tunnel last week.
I'm pretty sure Chad Knaus would never go for that unless Hendrick forced him to do it. He just is a bull when it comes to his own team winning and nothing is going to stop him IMO.

"11 steps" could mean one of 3 things -
The 11 FedEx
The 4 car (15-11=4; and with Mike Wallace's failure to qualify, he's mathematically-eliminated from the Chase))
11 steps from Mikey's hauler (dunno who's parked that close to it).

No, but we got lapped cars (Brian Tyler, AJ Fike and Regan Smith, who looks to have made an unscheduled stop, have been lapped; Shane Hall went to cash the 43rd-place check).
Add DJ Heetlzle to the lapped list, and now Blake Feese (there's your Hendrick driver).

I was playing, but I guess it all depends on who's tape measure you are using. ;)

Truex almose wrecks himself running into the back of Pressley (you mean that car up there is for position? :-)

NAPA, the sponsor of that car, could choose to leave DEI and go with Waltrip to his next team. But Gilmore indicated the team would stay if DEI could sign the driver they are eyeing. Should they fail to get him, then DEI will essentially fold the team. NO-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O!!!!!!!!
You fool! Stables need at least three teams to compete with Roush and Hendrick, because of the extra ability to share information.

At least he doesn't need 12 steps. I think thst'a for alcoholics. And 12 steps would put him into Captain Kirk's ride (don't think that Childress would let him take 12 steps backward).
Back to the race, Kertus Davis (34th) just got lapped, and Jeff Fuller heads to the exits early.
