CLUE:
DEI competition director Richie Gilmore said Saturday that the organization was eyeing a driver younger in age than Dale Earnhardt Jr., that is also very marketable and was very fast in Saturday's practice.

The fabulous prior Winston Cup Champion Terry Labonte will be up next followed by Brian Vickers who does have a contract with Hendrick and will not be a candidate for the DEI auction.

Speaking of potential moves, take both Robot and SlowCasey out of the running for the #15 ride;
NASCAR.com says thtat both of them aren't going.
Kenseth - "Am I going to DEI? No. I'm happy at Roush Racing."
Mears - "I'll say right now I'm 99.9 percent sure I'm going to be with Ganassi next year."
I'll note that Kasey Kahne is both younger than Jr and was high on the speed charts.

Hot temperatures Thursday created a 4-foot wide crack in the concrete between turns 2 and 3 at Dover International Speedway. The track is expected to be repaired by next week. Delaware State News/Daniel Korup

I still read both of the Delaware papers online everyday - so if I see anymore info, I'll be sure to pass it along.

Shrub briefly grabs the pole with a 181.657 (we've skipped Backflipper for some reason). Texas Terry puts down a 179.222 (first field-filler out; he's also first in line for the champ's provisional), and McVickers knocks his teammate off the pole with a 182.786.
Seems they shut down the MRN TP broadcast.

Haven't seen the official announcement saying that FastKasey did extend with Evernham.
Ricky Rudd steps up to 2nd of 5 with a 182.286. Score one for the old men...
