As for Menard's, be thankful you didn't hear about them from those of us in the land of cheese and beer :-) They're well-known up here for a complete lack of quality. I don't know about that. We shop there all the time. I would say they are the "Wal-Mart" of home improvement/hardware stores. Not on a level with Home Depot or Lowes. But Wal-Mart does well, and so does Menards.

TOO FUNNY!
"Thought we had a really good shot at a top-10. You know, had a big-eared knucklehead that wanted to use an excuse that the car got away from him. You know, he's a champion -- a Nextel Cup champion. [He] got into us. Of course he apologized, of course. And it took us out of the race."

Thanks for the post. I was a bit (?) snarky, and I apologize for any preceived rudeness. But, I just do not like anything about #8 - might have something to do with I could not stand #3 either.
I wonder how motivated his team can be when all they hear from the driver is what a p.o.s car they are putting him in. Is it barely possible that Jr is not givng them what they need to work with as far as adjustments that need to be made?
Every team gets a bad setup from time to time. What's happened to Junior that they can't get the car better during the race?

He may be DEI's top driver, but if you have been following the season you should know he was not given DEI's top crew. He was given the crew from the #15, with a new chief. And then they bumped him again for still another chief. Might that explain some of the difficulties he has about getting the car correct?
I would estimate about fifty-percent of the time they are able to make the most out of what they are given. Remember Pocono? Two laps down at the end of the race, but still keeping up front with the leaders.
Finally, Junior has been saying the problem is the car they are bringing to the track, not the problems working on them. And Qualifying this last weekend bears him out. In a computer-generated side-by-side comparison between the car they brought to Indy and the cars that qualified in the top fifteen the problem was HORSEPOWER DOWN THE STRAIGHTAWAYS! Not handling. The changes the crews make in the pits are to the handling, not the horsepower.

Junior and Jeff will race for the Cup! (Well, in theory ...)
By Matt Crossman - SportingNews
Die-hard fans think NASCAR makes up the rules as it goes along. Those fans think that because it's true. Green-white-checkered flag finishes, the "lucky dog" rule, body changes -- NASCAR institutes new policies in the middle of the season all the time.
Fans also often accuse NASCAR of showing favoritism to its stars, though there's little convincing evidence, except for the time Brian France personally replaced Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s regular engine with a jet engine. Just kidding. France hired somebody to do it.
Now, making its way from cyberspace to radio waves, comes talk that NASCAR will change the rules to make sure Junior and Jeff Gordon -- by far NASCAR's most popular drivers but stink bombs on the track for large chunks of this season -- qualify for the Chase for the NASCAR Nextel Cup. Yes, there are conspiracy theories about an as-yet-unperpetrated conspiracy. Exactly how NASCAR would "manipulate" the rules to get those two in remains unknown (at least by those outside of the corporate headquarters).
The first theory to float up was that fans would be allowed to vote one driver into the Chase -- an election Junior would win in a walk. France shot that down. Probably because he already had cooked up a simpler, undetectable scheme to get both of them in.

I will pang the usual suspects.
Now, is he series??
I doubt Jr or Jeff would want to get in that way. Maybe I'm wrong.
And, we were conspiratizing yesterday that JJ missed tech because??????????? But, I doubt he took the big one against the wall for his boss. Although I think his early exit from the race didn't hurt.

Hi don-o.
Snarky, I love that word, combination of yark & ?? LOL
I wish I had kept all the articles I've posted about DEI this year but I didn't. There was one where DEI admitted they were snoozing over the winter break and that Hendrick and Roush were busy making new & better chassis for the new rules Implemented by Nascar this year which has been a drastic change on the way the cars handle. The other teams were building better cars and DEI was not. Some have surmised that Teresa is a business person not a racer and doesn't understand the racing end of it. She's never at the track except maybe Daytona in the suites. Hendrick and Roush are always there as are most of the other owners.
And Fideist has described the crew change etc. So I won't belabor that.
One of the reasons (and I have many) that I like Dale Jr is that he is very honest about what happens on the track. About whether the car is good or not etc. And even better if he causes an accident he will admit it. He doesn't hide anything, what you see is what you get. He had to be desperately disappointed yesterday after that wreck (no fault of his own) but he gave an interview to the media who are always dogging him. There was an on scene report by someone who went to the race that he could come out of his motorhome with Killer and walk up and down behind the RV's but could go no further because he would get mobbed. After the wreck, he, Truex and Killer got in the golf cart and headed for the chopper to go home.
One article I read mentioned his concern for his crew. It was during an interview in the winners circle at Michigan where he said I can put up with the pressure (and believe me is is under an immense amount of it) but he said he was more worried about his team having to go through the many problems with the car. And, more than that his team having to deal with all the media speculation as to why that car won't run worth a damn.
There's many speculations out there, but one thing I won't attribute to him is being a whiner. I will leave that title to others who always blame someone else for their wrecks etc. He cusses a lot though. LOL
I can understand if you didn't like his old man or him for that matter. Where would Nascar be if we all liked the same driver?
hugs :)

Anything is possible but I like the one about Jr throwing all these races so he can come back and win the last 12 races after the chase ends. This will piss Brain France off and make him look like a fool and the red fans will go wild and drink all the beer in North Carolina and Jr will get a hugh bonus...

WestCoastGal here.............hello
I can only think of one reason and that is Brain France threw a bunch of numbers at the wall and "10" stuck.
10 races, 10 drivers and he did this to up the ante for TV dollars so probably 10 gazillion dollars too.
Steve will know. :)

The Nascar group is the finest on FR IMO, always a lot of fun to watch the races with. And always a good laugh when you need one. Like tonight, glock rocks and tubebender could do a casino show.

If it were only true then Brain would definitely head off to the NFL!! Maybe a 10 team playoff will be in order there as well.

The 10 comes from WWE Monday Night Raw championship. Ten rasslers compete for the coveted championship belt.
Does that answer both questions?
