This doesn't make sense. Does this Salford University (for a second, I read it as Stanford - yikes!) offer a doctoral program in air guitar? Do they have a department of air guitar? Otherwise I don't see how she can get a PhD in air guitar. Could it be that she is actually in a doctoral program in something like anthropology or cultural studies and her thesis topic is air guitar? Or is Salford one of those schools where you can just make up your own major and get a degree? Well good luck to her - air guitar isn't a terribly lucrative field.
