MY NEW PET PEEVE

Posted on 08/02/2005 10:36:12 AM PDT by redlocks322

I just spent my lunch hour at the grocery store. I was so ticked off by the time I left, I had sweat rolling down my face.

First of all, (and I'm not knocking stay at home mom's) but is the noon hour the ONLY hour in the day that they can schedule hauling their screaming bawling children to the grocery store???? I mean come on... those of us who work 50 hours a week use our lunch hour to get things done, not to tango in the isle trying to get around a passle of "play group" kids on a field trip!

To top it all of... after my $260 worth of groceries, there was no one left to sack them for all the "mommy groups" so I sacked them myself and had to carry them out myself, all so I can get back to work and fume over it.

I think there should be a law against people who don't work to stay out of the grocery store from 11am to 1pm during the week and let us workers have the opportunity to get our stuff done.

Anyway, done venting... like I said I have nothing against stay at home moms as long as they stay at home during the lunch time hours.

LOL, thanks!
My brother and I mellowed out with that once sis was born.
We figured we had to behave because there was a 'sister' around now.

She's okay.
Though she sometimes IS the mastermind behind some of my recent pranks.
Though no more "Inquisition" play acting in the yard.

Ask your husband. That's what matters most, right?

Neighbors loved it.
Called the police a few times, wanted us arrested on grounds that we WOULD BECOME 'axe murderers'.

Don't go to a grocery store if 'Boost' or 'Ensure' are on sale and the store is near an assisted living facility. :-)

LOL!
Well, considering this is a digital medium, I figured there'd be alot of people clustering around monitors everywhere.
I feel like I'm being watched...

Absolutely no need to ask. I know exactly how he feels. I hear about it all day, every day. He works from home, so we are together 24/7.

Once again, that is a cool cat. ;)

I'd say that's at least a cat-and-a-half!

Darksheare, I see what you mean by attitude. She just looks sassy. Maybe it's the way she's got her arms folded. She looks like she ought to be crackling her gum and saying "kiss my grits".

I just don't get how folks cannot want to be around children. They are SUCH a joy. The sound of their voices, the way they see the world, the funny things they say. The world would be the biggest drag, saddest place without children. They are such a joy! They are SO real in their emotions, not phony, they are so enthusiastic and excited about all that is around them in the world. They're excited about all the different varieties of popsicles at the grocery stores, all the different cereals - just watching kids enjoy all life has to offer - I can live off these sights.

Kearen cat would do just that if she could!
(Though she is amazingly afraid of Starlings for some reason.)

I just spent my lunch hour at the grocery store

Wow you get a real lunch hour?

I mean come on... those of us who work 50 hours a week use our lunch hour to get things done, not to tango in the isle trying to get around a passle of "play group" kids on a field trip!

Hmmmmmmmmm my day starts at 5am & "quitting" time is around 11pm.(7 days a week 365 days a year)

To top it all of... after my $260 worth of groceries, there was no one left to sack them for all the "mommy groups" so I sacked them myself and had to carry them out myself, all so I can get back to work and fume over it.

I sure hope you didn't break a nail!

I think there should be a law against people who don't work to stay out of the grocery store from 11am to 1pm during the week and let us workers have the opportunity to get our stuff done.

Well if I give my opinion on that one.. I will be banned.

!!

Well, they started it.
Head falling off the haft, not taking an edge, burring up due to walnut burls.
How much can a guy take?
Not at all as reliable as the Viking Bearded Axe...

...did I just say that out loud?

I was a pretty quiet kid, but I tended to wander off in stores so when I was little Mother Slim had one of those leashes.

T_S you are cracking me up today.

Mother Slim getting ice cream with Junior Slim while restrained with a child leash. (NOTE the extra reinforcement with the full body harness).

When I'm in the shower, I'm afraid to wash my hair
I might open my eyes and find someone standing there
People say I'm crazy, just a little touched
But maybe showers remind me of Psycho too much
That's why...

I always feel like somebody's watching me
Who's playing tricks on me
I always feel like somebody's watching me
Tell me it can't be
