What really got me about the game was the fact that, despite knowing that they were going to get nothing but strikes, all of the Red Sox batters kept either striking out looking or taking two obvious strikes and then striking out swinging. It was a game that they could have had a chance at winning if they actually swung the bat.
Overall, it was a bad night, with the Sox losing, the Yankees winning, and the Reds (my NL team) losing.

IMHO, the Red Sox consistently do not play "smallball" well. Tonight's game is a good example: Renteria - in that second spot - should be more of a contact hitter, with the goal of just moving the guys along the bases. Maybe Graffanino should be hitting second?
Sox blowin' it again tonight... :-(

I think tonight was worse than last night. Tonight there were so many ways they could have won, like catching the ball.
I hope Adam Stern is going to be worth it. He's taking up a roster spot that someone far more deserving (like Youkilis) could be in.

I hope Adam Stern is going to be worth it. He's taking up a roster spot that someone far more deserving (like Youkilis) could be in.
I agree with both of you... So far I'm not very impressed with Stern. Free Kevin Youkilis!
My husband and I plan to go to the PawSox game tomorrow. We'll give Kevin an extra-big cheer when he comes up to bat. :o)
(and we'll see what Bellhorn is up to...)

Any Nats fans out there?
They begin a long road trip today (13 games in as many days).
This will manke or break their season, in my opinion.
Too bad Nats fans can't watch the games on tv (thanks to comcast). They need all the support they can get.

I think they've been playing over their heads for most of the season. I do hope they can get a ballpark built in D.C.

The Nats are already done. If they could have gotten the Rocket and maybe Rick Harden it might be different. but that said, their pitching is tired, their hitting is getting worse and the Braves are finally healthy.
It was a nice run, but they are a seriously flawed team right now.

Well, they won the first game of their 13-game road trip against the Stros last night, so that is a step in the right direction, and their pitching is certainly their strength. It will be an interested trip for these guys.
Too bad their fans can't see any of the games for the 2 weeks they are gone. I hope the fans stick with the team during tough times like these. Comcast is certainly not helping the situation.
