Actually, stats say you have a better chance at a successful marriage if you do not live together first. But no one cares about successful marriages or moral behavior. It's all about ME!!! Sadly, there is a lot of social pressure to live together first. It used to be the other way around.
I haven't seen those stats. But as far as marriage is concerned, I do see the nuclear family becoming obsolete and transforming into extended families, which should provide more stability.

What amazes me is that it never occurs to them that living together might cause a raised eyebrow.
While I'm not a huge advocate of living together first, as a technical nit the particular study you are referring to has very rightly been shredded as being statistically meaningless due to signficantly biased samples.
