Not over the top at all IMHO. She's just trying to preserve values that make or break societies. I applaud her for it. It is what my wife and myself have also attempted to do in the raising of our children. That doesn't mean we want to force it on anyone...but the apartment is in her home for goodness sakes.

Such moral convictions cannot be forced...they must be freely adopted and accepted. That does not spare a society from the negative consequences of deparintg from such values. The founders of this nation, IMHO, with whatever other short comings, understood it and tried to articulate it.
