These yachts - ok, SuperYachts - are just incredible. Absolutely incredible. With everything from submersibles, to several (up to 3) 40-foot boats (!!!!), and a plethora of smaller craft, these yachts are the cat's miaow. Enough to even make a land-lubber want to set sail pronto. And I'd say they are worth every penny (and anyways if one has the 200 or so million bucks to nab one of these beauts, and the 20 mil or so PER year to maintain them, then I am certain money is neither an issue nor a problem).
Shiver me timbers!
The boat in the background is Paul Allen's Octopus:

Paul Allen has fun.

I saw this yacht(ship) docked in SF for a while, it is a beautiful boat.

We should just give the plans for these yachts to the Chinese, so they can make $10,000 versions we can all enjoy. Sure, they'll be a little chintzier, but who wouldn't want a $40 submersible and a $80 helicopter on his bigass yacht!

You want to see SUPER yachts. Go to Monaco ni the summer time. Their tender boats are bigger then 95% of the yachts we have in our harbor.

It's Paul Allen's money and he can spend it as he sees fit. If I had a couple hundred extra mil laying around I'd do it too, and be off to the South Seas pronto!

A yacht has been defined as a hole in the water in which you pour money. An old truism that has circulated for many years amongst serious yacht owners ... "if you have to ask how much, you can't afford one."

I saw one of these last week in the Virgin Islands. It was about the same size as the town I grew up in.

Paul Allen has fun. I wonder if Bill will ever regret the amount of time at teh office he puts in? The people who know how to live (billionaire style) are Larry Ellison, Sir Richard Branson, and HongKong Billionaire magnate Li Ka-shing. Whether it is flitting around in a personal Mig-29 Fulcrum, owning hideaways in exotic locales, or living in a state of opulence that wopuld make Croesus quiver or (especially in Ka-Shing's case, or several of the newly-minted Russian billionaires) having not just wealth but real tangible power, any of these men could make Ian Flemming rewrite several of his Bond characters (were he alive that is). And hey, it would be great having a Yacht that can look down on many ships.

In fact if I were him I'd probably get a bigger boat (just in case I run afoul of Moby Dick and need to ram him in the noggin'). I never criticized him in any way manner or form.

You are psychic! I was googling for that yacht to no avail. Ever since i saw a pic of it in the Robb Report I fell in love. Although it will be going for around 200mil (at least that's what they said it would go for, and this was during its pre-production phase so the number may be less) it looks like it is worth every penny. Pack a couple of torpedo tubes onto that baby and one is ready to rock in style. Thanks for saving me countless wasted work hours (LOL) trying to find the name of that yacht. My employer owes you big time.
