My UFO Story...
When I was just a little guy (5 or 6), my dad and I would often spend a half-hour or so sitting on the front steps before bedtime. He'd let me just ramble on about whatever was on my mind, and of course treat it as if it were near-Biblical wisdom.

One night we were sitting there (about 10PM) and a HUGE glowing disk went over our home. No sound, no wind in its passing. Thinking back I'd say it was probably 2 or 3 thousand feet up. It just passed over, without incident. I of course was jumping up and down and pointing at it. Dad sat quietly, looking upward, with his mouth gaped open in wonder. I was too excited to sleep and was up almost all night.

The next day, Mom and Dad had evidently decided that the subject was taboo and told me it was probably just a weather balloon or something. In later years he told me that he and Mom had decided not to tell anyone lest people think us to be a bunch of crazies. Anyway, that's my UFO story.

This was in N/E Texas about 1963 or 1964, just in case anyone knows of any sightings in that area and during that time.
