I just moved back to NYS after living in Monroe for 3 years. I had to deal with DFACS there as I was taking care of a terminally ill friend who was forced to avail himself of the food stamp program. I found the people at DFACS to be very kind, caring, and very helpful. There must be something else going on here.

There've been plenty of cases of abuse by various "child protective" agencies. More often than not, they involve neighbors with either a grudge or busybody tendencies, and bureaucrats looking to justify their jobs.

Sometimes the problem is more severe. Cuyahoga County's system was badly out of control, with agents like Donna Butler allowed to basically run wild.
