This is what happens when your borders are wide open. Correct me if I'm wrong but you don't need a passport to travel to France, do you?

Strange but I do not know the answer, I think not but then again I have never traveled there. Anyway as far as borders being closed this is a very correct statement, Britain has been far to open as have the left wing Goverments of Europe

yes, you need a passport to travel from the UK to any other EU country.
