Hi Gabz, Everyone!

For our family, any sports package on satellite TV is worth every penny. we watch so many sports that it is really worth it for us.

Along the same line, my husband uses his Mr. Beer to brew the beer we enjoy while watching sports!

We also get alot of use out of our food processor. Now we are both hoping to get a kitchen-aid. I am a little wary of spending the $179.99 that they are going for at costco. Does anyone have one that can offer advice please?!

I would DIE for one of those Kitchen-Aids.......my advice, start saving for it.......they are worth every penny of the price. $179.99 is a very good price.

Do you mean the KitchenAid stand mixer? If so, the very best prices you can find are through the Betty Crocker catalogues. When it comes to mixers, or any appliance you'll use a lot, make sure that it will suit your needs five years from now. We went with the KA Professional 6. It's not cheao, but through Betty Crocker it was less than smaller, less powerful models at ANY retailer. It also came with freebie attachments. There are some differences between what is available at the BC website and what is available through the catalogue--I seem to remember that the cat prices were better.

Not everyone is going to need a Pro6, but with three boys getting bigger all the time, we'll never have to replace it.

My advice is to get the Kitchen Aid! My husband bought it for me for Christmas a couple of years ago. I use it constantly. It's the best gift I've ever received. Since it was a gift, I don't know how much it cost, but whatever the price, it was worth it!

They are amazing; I use it almost every day. Get one. Quick.

Hey, dudley...hope I am not to late to offer a suggestion. I got a Kitchen-Aid, always wanted the kind Emeril uses. There are a number of models and the price you have is a good one, but I believe it is a smaller model. Anyway, I do love mine. But...one thing I do not like is that the top (the part that holds the mixing devices) does not lift up and prop back. It is a real pain sometimes getting the mixing bowl out and especially pouring things into the bowl. (Emeril seems to do it easily but I am always spilling my ingredients)

There is another brand,(I cannot think of it right now, but will look it up and FReepmail you), that does prop back. IMHO that would be much easier to use and I wish I had bought that. I am always using my mixer and that aspect makes it very inconvenient. Hope that gives you some ideas.

As to the topic of this thread: (1) Bought and use every day...well, actually my doggies use it - a doggie door for the back door. Saves me so much time going in and out with 3 dogs! And no more accidents in the house, either.(2)Item I bought that I love: my Pergo flooring that looks like hard wood. What a dream to take care of, how nice it looks, and much everyone admires it. Best money we ever spent - and not really that expensive.
