ooooooohhhhh....shhhtop!
After today's excitement - the Clown Posse crowd doesn't seem so bad.
I flew (in my Cherokee) a friend up to his vineyard this morning. On the way home - I noticed my right shoe was covered in .... BRAKE FLUID... I had just had some maintenance done on the brakes - and well, they broke.
I'm headed home and I'm pretty certain I don't have brakes on my right side. We have two runways - short and long. I'll need the long.
The next thing I know - a Southwest Airlines 737 performs a GO AROUND (nearly unheard of in a commercial plane) and they need to close my LONG runway for 15 minutes (long story about why - suffice it to say it is the rarest of rare conditions).
I'm circling - getting more nervous - it's 95 degrees - felt like 150.
Finally, It's my turn. I landed on the #s and was able to get it stopped before the end of the runway and was able to get it off the runway - had someone tow me back to my spot.
THEN... I found a dead mouse in my hangar.
THEN... I drank a beer - or two.
Enough fun for one day - I believe.
Where's that third beer?
