I need some assistance from experts, and I know of no other forum that has answers for everything than FR and the fine folks who post here.
My husband bought an Ertl model kit of the Star Wars X-Wing Fighter, and it doesn't come with painting instructions. Now, Mr. Mabelkitty is very precise *cough* anal *cough*, so the painting instructions need to have the exact paint number/type (maybe even brand?) and not just the color "blue" or "white goes here", etc.
Anybody know of a website that would have such exact specifications?
This is for a grand-daughter who is experiencing Star Wars for the first time, and Mr. Mabelkitty, an enthusiastic fan himself, wants to make an exact replica for grand-daughter Mabelkitty.
Thank you for your help.
P.S. - I read the posting to Mr. Mabelkitty, and he approves of his description - he's got a good sense of humor.
Monk would know.

You'll need to unzip the contents. All the pages are .jpg's.
Hope this helps.
Need help.
Testorsd model master paints, black label stuff.
Probably should use an airbrush, and practice with it elsewhere before using it on the model.
Testors dulcote and clearcote are life savers as well.
After painting the model, you spray it with the clearcote, lightly.
Then you apply the decals on top of the clearcote, let them dry, give them a light spray of clearcote overtop of them, then mask off any windows with masking tape, and spray with a light layer of dullcote.
The model will not show edges of decals afterwards.
Decals are best moved from their backing with light prods of a toothpick straight from the backing onto the model surface.
The best thing I can tell you for the colors, is to grab some pics of the thing, and match the colors as best as one can by eye.
But Testors model master paints will be the best bet colorwise.
Italeri is as good IF you can find them.
I appreciate your help.
However, our model is grey and the instructions we have don't even have an alphabetized key. I'll see if I can make them large so we can see the parts. These instructions are very different from the ones that came in the box.
Thanks, Darksheare.
Looks like we're going to do this and use the box as an example for color and placement.
Welcome.
Any small tips that anyone else can give can help in immeasurable ways.

*shuddering*
There are some things you can see there without registering as a memebr, but there are some things that you won't see then.
There are some popups, but my pop-up blocker killed them.
Whoops, Testors website link with some of their paints listed.
