The times I've seen Smith, I have NOT been impressed by him. Most of the Fox News line-up is not news. It's personality-driven talk shows interrupted by news updates on the half hour and their incessant "alerts." Fox has some really talented field reporters and anchors-in-the-making: Greg Kelly, Rick Leventhal, Bill Hemmer (recently acquired from CNN), and a couple of others whose names escape me at the moment. The idea that they should put one of their over-weening "big" personalities, like Smith, on such a crucial story is, frankly, insulting to the viewer.

I know. And Smith went into this long-winded self righteous monologue about how this can't be happening in America, a dead man lying by the side of the road and the cops just drive by.

Well I'm not there, but I would assume that the cops are more interested in helping the living than the dead, Shep.

He's really making an ass out of himself.
