OK, just curious what current wedding etiquette is... among polite society.
ie: single people aren't "allowed" to bring a guest unless it is their fiance, or as miss manners asserts, "gifts are brought to a childs birthday party, not a wedding."
I have no judgements on either subject I posted above...but I'm just curious what FR folks think since we are in wedding season...
any aspect is fair game. who should be tipped by who, is-there-still-a-bride-or-groom-side-of-the-church to who should be giving toats... (I say give a plastic cup and plastic fork to anyone obnoxious enough to start banging their fork on a glass to quiet the crowd so they can start bloviating as I am doing right now)
etc etc.
Pastel pink. I think she did do it on purpose, not to be nasty, but believing that she was supposed to match.
Looking back at the pictures, HER mother is also wearing pink! Which just proves I'm a nasty person because Grandma in pink never bothered me a bit! LOL!
Hrm, seems we were inappropriate. I would've been happy to ax a whole bunch of guests actually.
With spring/summer weddings, color choices are kind of limited. Obviously, white is out, if you were raised anywhere besides the barn. Yellow, blue or green are tough to pull off, unless they are pastels. I hate to see red at weddings (don't know why, I just don't like red!); black is okay for the under-30 crowd but it is DEFINITELY out for the mothers to wear--wrong message.

Naaah, sounds more like you have a normal relationship with your MIL! It's not usually a lovefest right off the bat.
