NEW YORK Bill Hemmer (search) has joined FOX News Channel as a weekday anchor and correspondent, announced Roger Ailes, chairman and chief executive officer of FOX News.
In making the announcement, Ailes said, "Bill is a journalist of great integrity, and his strong reporting and anchoring skills will prove beneficial to the entire FOX News team."
Hemmer added, "I am thrilled to be joining FOX News Channel, and I welcome the opportunity to be a part of the nation's leading cable news network."
For the past 10 years Hemmer was an anchor/correspondent at CNN, where he most recently co-hosted American Morning.
While there, Hemmer also anchored CNN Live Today and CNN Tonight.

Eh, he always struck me as a lightweight, but whatever....
YAAAY! I like him, and he is sure to fit in well.
Paula (zipper sound) Zahn had perfect timing- left Fox to go to CNN just as Fox started kicking CNN's a$$...
And FNC continues its slide to the left.
Opening up the same underserved market segment that allowed FNC to get into the cable news game, for some new competitor, perhaps?
Any media company out there willing to take a chance on serious, unbiased news?
Adding Bill Hemmer is not a slide left. Good move by Fox News adding a right of center journalist who loves this country and supports our US military. Bill was stuck at CNN much like Brit Hume was at ABC.
I agree. Bill Hemmer has always supported our troops much to the chagrin of lefty Soledad O'Brien and CNN. Good move for Hemmer.
Ping
Yea. I like him and he is not hard to look at either.
"orgasm factor" huh.
Please FReepmail me if you want on or off my FoxFan list. *Warning: This can be a high-volume ping list at times.
Thanks for the heads up on this thread!
Not crazy about Hemmer and wonder who will get the boot to make room for him. They seem to have a pretty full line-up as it is.

I'm happy for Bill Hemmer and Fox. Cutie pie bump!
Thanks for the ping!
Another plus is that Bill Hemmer is from generally conservative Cincinnati. Tony Snow is also from the Cincinnati suburbs and I can proudly say graduated a couple years ahead of me from Princeton High School in Sharonville.
Tony Snow is cool. That must be some High School.
For a public high school Princeton High School was (is) one of the better ones in the country. In languages alone they offer Latin, German, Spanish, French, Japanese and Russian.
