Speaking of plot twists -- did you notice that Lily Potter was outstanding at ... potions? How very interesting. Perhaps Snape's hatred for James is based less on their inherent enmity, than it is on the fact that James got the girl.... And perhaps the fact that Harry has Lily's eyes (how many times have we heard it) merely twists the knife a bit more.

Oooh. He has such hatred for James, but Snape keeps protecting Harry. Perhaps because of his mother's eyes. So, when he told Voldemort about the prophecy and Lily was killed (I must add I think Lily and James are alive), he came to Dumbledore. Maybe that is why Dumbledore trusts him. Snape loved Lily, and love is the greatest power.....my head is spinning!

About Snape and Lily--I admit it, I read at some fanfic sites, and there is a sorta neato thing wherein if you rearrange the letters of Severus Snape's name you get "Perseus Evans" (Evans being Lily's last name before she got married.) LOTS and LOTS of theories about how the two of them might be related, and that is why she is nice to him in the memories, though he is such a POS.
