Harry didn't destroy the diary with the sword. He used the serpent's tooth.

I am SO late to this thread. : )

Better late than never. Now where do you think the remaining horcruxes are?

Re another Horcrux possibility...

Have we ever been told WHERE/WHAT HAPPENED to
Voldemort's WAND?

I was reviewing the Tom Riddle clues when it dawned
on me. WHY did Riddle have to steal Harry's
wand in COS? What happened to HIS wand? Is it
possible he became so adept at Mind Spells that
V felt he could hide 1/7 of himself in his wand?
What would Voldemort's wand look like? We know
that the shop of Olivander the wand maker has
been closed down and the old man taken away.
WHY? And recall another tie in. Both V's and
Harry's wands contain a feather from a PHONEIX!

Is it possible the phoenix which contributed
the feathers was Dumbledore's FAWKES? If so,
HOW did Dumbledore acquire Fawkes' allegiance?
and when?

WHY did Riddle have to steal Harry's wand in COS? What happened to HIS wand?

Since Riddle was just a "memory" rather than the actual Riddle, he didn't have a working wand (or that's what I think)-remember he had to "posses" ginny to actualize.

Is it possible the phoenix which contributed the feathers was Dumbledore's FAWKES?

In Goblet of Fire Dumbledore told Harry the Phoenix feather in both Hp's and V's wand is from Fawkes.

If so, HOW did Dumbledore acquire Fawkes' allegiance? and when?

I think Dumbledore's always had Fawkes. I assume he sold a few feathers on ebay, which were purchased by Olivander back when he was a starving young transfiguration professor (when in doubt make something up.)

Thanks for the answers...as for
"makeups," well...why not? That's what
JKR does at times!

Been to this site? Some interesting stuff.

I don't think anybody would think twice if something at 12 Grimmauld place had a serpent on it, because Sirius' entire family were Slytherin, except for him.

Seems to me that RAB would need only a bezoar, and not an accomplice.

If I am not mistaken, a bezoar does not work for all poisons. Plus, the issue isn't recovering from the potion, but having the strength to drink the whole thing in the first place. So I don't know if a bezoar will help.

Now here's a connection your post just suggested to me. A bezoar is a stone taken from the stomach of a goat. There is a throwaway comment (in Goblet of Fire, I think) about Dumbledore's brother Aberforth being prosecuted for practicing inappropriate charms on a goat, or something like that. Does anyone else remember? It's when Harry and his friends meet Dumbledore at Hagrid's cabin after the disclosure about Hagrid's mother. Do you think Aberforth (who isn't discussed much, after all) was some kind of bezoar/potions expert? He isn't very favorably portrayed... but his name does start with an "A," for those who think "R" and "A" are two people. Hmmmm. I've always wondered a bit about Aberforth.

Actually, Dumbledore tells Harry that indeed Fawkes did provide the feathers for Harry's and Voldemort's wands. Interesting point on the wand being missing in COS. And I agree that the disappearance of Ollivander will be an issue later.

Good point. I think it's interesting that the locket could not be opened, especially in light of how HP knew that the locket DD retrieved from the cave was a fake because it was open.

I'm still waiting for books 1-4 to be returned to me. I need to read them again, slooowly and carefully!

I've read on several occasions that the last name "Evans" really is just a coincidence. JKR was asked whether or not he was related to Lily and Petunia (and, therefore, Harry) and she said no.

Of course, I do believe her if she said that, but it's hard to believe just because JKR doesn't usually DO coincidences. Remember Mrs. Figg? Took over half the series before we found out who she REALLY was.

I understand what you're saying but, she hasn't lied to us before. If it meant something, she probably wouldn't have said anything at all.

Exactly why I am certain that DD is really dead, as dead as Python's parrot. He's not pretending, he's not just dead for the time being. He's dead, and as JKR has said "Dead is dead, even in the wizarding world."
