I'm depressed not only from watching the footage, but by listening to FReepers argue with each other about every aspect of it. I figure I could begin arguing right along with them, or I could go for a ride in the woods and thank my lucky stars. I'm choosing the latter.

I know what you mean. This "natural" disaster has to be blamed on someone don't you know? I hate to see it reported on tv anyhow, I think stupid idiots are making it look like if you are strong and brave enough you can weather it out. Then the people who stay get trapped or in danger, further endangering lives of rescue teams who really have enough to do. I know that some disabled, reliant on high oxygen tanks etc, could not have left, but there were some people who actually went DOWN to MI, new orleans to see the storm!
