Here's a funny picture of ecurbh and Cyn negotiating a log behind me, and she surprised ecurbh by hopping it.

*laughing*

Quite a self-satisfied grin on ecurbh's face there. ;-)

I'm heading to bed. I'm beat!

Nighty night!

Oh yeah, and my bridle broke halfway through the ride.

Good night!

I guess I don't explain well. How your saying you do it is how I meant it. Bend the horse around your leg, BUT if the horse isn't coming around fast/tight enough I bump with the outside. Apply inside pressure near the cinch, you don't want their rear ends swinging out.

Yeah, I think a light weight saddle would be nice, especially since my western is not fitting him well. I used my saddle to do CTR's for 5 years with Belle and she never had a sore back, so it was one of those things, if it's not broke don't fix it. But it's "broke" now:), not litereally, but it's not working on Harley. I've always said if I ever had to get a different saddle, I'd want something more lightweight. I never thought I'd want an English tho:), But I'd sure like to try one.

The saddle I looked at today is an All Purpose. I sat in several different styles, but the All Purpose is the one I liked.

Good morning.

Hair, great pictures.

It is raining here really nice, so no riding this morning.

Those bestiality stories get nuked pretty quick, usually. This one has gotten tiresome, that horse has been beaten to death.

Your pictures are great! That lady really doesn't have her hands on the reins much.

She's a character.

So - what's up with Tuffy's feet?

I think you might like an english saddle. Less bulky, and easier to deal with, at least in my opinion. (Easier to get in and out of too!) The fenders on western saddles drive me crazy when I'm trying to adjust stirrups. Are you going to get an english bridle too to complete his new "outfit" or are you going to go "Winglish" in style? :-)

I think the shoer cut him too short. Tuffy pulled both back shoes off last month and did considerable damage to his back feet. I guess in order to clean him up and put shoes back on the shoer had to cut him pretty short. He's always ouchy after a shoeing but he's really lame this time.

I'll be back later, time to get the kidlets ready for church.

It doesn't sound right that he's usually sore after shoeing.

What's happening that he pulled his back shoes off?

What are the differences between and English and Western Bridle, other then a cavasson? I'm not using a cavasson....those look as bad to me as a tie down does to you all:)

And that reminds me, do English girths, have a ring in the center to hook a tie down or running martingale too? I think I remember with Jennys English rig she had no where to hook a tie down too.

On bridles.... only cosmetic style differences, really... the type of buckles on the headstall might be different for style is all. They all work the same, we'll fix you up before you enter any shows :~D

You can get some of the English girths that do have rings for breastcollars or a tie down. Mine doesn't have, but they make a leather loop that slides over the girth and has a ring on it. I use the loop of my breastcollar to slide the cinch through before buckling it up, and took the snap off of it.

I pretty much thought it was just cosmetic. I just got a nice black nylon head stall and tie down. I'll probably just stay with that. It looks pretty on him.
