This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

When the vet cut them off Lightning Mark said "WOW they are huge.........as big as mine", and gave the vet a choking fit! LOL

As of right now yeah. We are supposed to leavein about an hour and making a turn around trip tomorrow night. Common sense tells me to stay here and get ready but .......

Just got back in today. The saddle maker guy looked at the saddle and it is definitly broke. He is saying it will cost 1/2 the price of what I paid for the saddle new, which is $750. I'm not sure what I'm going to do. He may come down some from there but I'd say it will be at least $500.
I've got alot of time tho. I am going to get to use Jenny's saddle for now, we found out this week she is going to have a baby:) :) :), so riding is out for her for awhile. That will give me time to decide what to do and save the money to do it.
So did you get your dad's truck yet? Are you going to get to ride with Bob?

Youch.... well, I don't know if you want to consider them, but the synthetic saddle we bought for ecurbh was $500.
Congratulations to Jenny! She won't ride now at all till after the baby?
We don't have the truck yet, but the plan was to get it this weekend. There's complications though, so I don't know.
Yes - we're going on the ride with Bob Friday (week from today)... I'd like to think we'll have time for a warm up ride or two before then but I'm not sure. We'll have company here till Wed.... and then ecurbh will be working.
hey we are on the road, heading to Atlanta and then going through Birmingham to get to Memphis.
Sorry to hear your saddle is messed up, if it were me I would look for a new one. For that price, you can get some nice ones. : )
