I guess I like the stuff.
Just made up a batch of seitan. Mom used to make it fairly frequently - it's a lot cheaper than meat, and now that gluten is available in even regular groceries, it's really easy to make. Used to be, the main method for making it involved kneading a flour and water dough under running water until just the gluten was left. Lot of work.
It doesn't really taste like meat, but it's good, and I've been wanting some. I'll fry a cutlet in olive oil for dinner, with broccoli and onions on the side. Mmm...
I'll say! I've never heard of it!
