Yes, it was bloodlust. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
I do honestly think that the outrage was about the fact that it was returning soldiers that were attacked by garden variety gang bangers that provoked the outrage Du Jour.
There *is* something offensive about that. And NO... it's not about race... its about the callous attitude and reporting of crime.
Said another way: If TWO US Army Soldiers were vicously beaten three weeks ago in BAGHDAD it would most certainly have made front page news everywhere. But since it happened in SEATTLE there is no story.
What is the US EXIT STRATEGY from SEATTLE??
:-)
It was the wrong kind, and I am surprised you didn't see it. But the blame was uninformed and off base. And the ~wink wink nod nod~ about it was a distraction from the goal.
The media didn't sit on the story or anything, The Seattle PD just released the video, KOMO reported it immediately with a line that expressed some dismay at the story being three weeks old and them just getting the video.
There's no information about how long the Seattle PD has had the video, but before the video, it's just a bad barfight. After the video is seen, it's a beating of monstrous proportion. The story deserves to be here. But there got to be so many pulled or pullable posts that the thread was an embarrassment.
