Did you ask them to specifically cancel their subscribership? I'm not sure, if I had been a part of an egroup, I would think to ask to be cancelled, I might either want to spy, OR, I might just stop going there and posting there but not think about my membership.

Let me ask you this though... any harm in their lurking? Are you really keeping a treasure trove of secrets in there? Or is it hindering the emotional venting that might occur? Is there venting and gossip and finger pointing happening?

What I would have you consider is, if you've just gotten yourself into an "us" versus "them" frame of mind that in the long run won't matter to you. If they asked to join both, would you stop them?

Well, the rules of the egroup from the day it was started last year was that you had to be a member of BA CHEF to be a part. Had none of this ever happened, after the first meeting this year, the membership teamleader would have gone in and taken out anyone that didn't re-up with BA CHEF.

Now this has happened and the membership teamleader is one of the ones that voted to split off from BA CHEF!

And get this...the people who voted to split off are still posting in the egroup!! They have their own egroup, they aren't members of BA CHEF, so they technically shouldn't be there.

My concern is that it is inhibiting people from talking, knowing the people that caused the rift are still hanging around posting like nothing is wrong.

It won't stop me, however and when I have something to say, I'm gonna say it. Likely today I'll post a message asking the ladies to make sure and come to the BA CHEF meeting tomorrow night.
