Governments really shouldn't be in charge of important things if they can't even handle employee travel. Agreed! Let's try to have them involved in as little as possible.

Nana overtreated her...um...problem with cheese. So yesterday she was so weak she was barely able to walk. She's a little better today.

What was your last communication with them, that led you to thinking they'd call today?Well...I guess I'm just makin' assumptions. I spoke with HR on Friday, who told me I was one of the top candidates and my name had been passed to a particular person, who should be calling very soon to set up an interview. And I figure they likely want to get it done ASAP. But it's true, it could be awhile.

No...but a recruiter from another contracting agency did. So...there's another option.
I sent my resume as he requested. Figured it couldn't hurt. But I did say I had another option that I'm waiting to hear back on. Maybe shouldn't have, but...

The only calls I've missed were those ones on Thursday afternoon. I'm hoping that wasn't them. Surely they wouldn'ta just given up after trying and failing to get a hold of me in one fifteen minute interval.
I'm thinking most likely that was my siblings calling from overseas, and that's why no message was left.

I should know by now that academia moves in a different time pattern than the rest of the world. ;-)
And with today being the first day of school, they may be really, really busy. I know we always were. People coming back and forgetting how to login, and parents still there with the freshmen students coming by to ask us just how much hand-holding we were willing to do and ask why we wouldn't do more...and such like. Busy, busy, busy!
Eek...got a call from a second recruiter for the same position the other called me for earlier. Suddenly I'm in demand! She was a bit depressed she was beaten to the punch...
