We asked them to bring the mom along too so that we could see her and judge her character. Apparently, she chased some cows and her previous owner took her to the vet along with her 5 puppies to be euthanized. The vet called the shelter to see if they would take them. We got the last two.

Well, they'll herd by nature... Undirected they can do some damage to the livestock.
But their prey drive can be redirected too, and they'll probably love playing ball.
At least they aren't bird dogs. Any sense yet how keyed they'll be about the chickens?
The pups look fine as do the young 'uns. We wish them a long and happy life on Dogwood Ridge.

Gotta have some good news soon for all three...we just gotta. I've been praying for Rosie ever time I think of her, I'll be doing the same for the rosebear family now.
I have a bit of news...
Steve came in this evening and I carefully questioned him about the paper (cause he gets defensive if I bring it up too often). He told me "Hopefully I'll get it done by the end of September." Now the last I heard it was the end of August and that's what I've been aiming for. That's what I've been telling everyone.
Well, I hate to say it, but I slightly hit the ceiling. I asked him "When were you gonna let me in on this? At the last minute??" He did apologize for not telling me sooner that he wasn't gonna be done when he thought.
So we got to talking and I asked "How much vacation do you have?" He said he had about 240 hours. I said "If you worked on that paper 16 hours a day, how long would it take you to finish it?" He said a week. I said "Take a weeks vacation and finish it!"
So that's what he's gonna do...then at least he'll get the third draft in by the end of next week. After that, if I understand correctly and with the little info he gives me, he might have to do some spiffing, then he has to defend it. It still might be the beginning of September, but there you go.
The boys start Awanas soon...and choir. I want to get more involved in my support group, especially since I'm in one of the leadership positions now. I need him to get done!
ROTFL.... well, that's a healthy start.
She went back with Connie and will stay with someone until she finds a home. I would have kept her here but she is full grown and the chickens may not have fared so well. I'm a big softy and would take just about anything in. It broke my heart to see her fuss about leaving her babies...at least thats how I saw it.
