I can think of a lot better guy-stuff... ok, so I only read three L'Amour books. They struck me as the equivalent of lurid pink romance novels. Only with horses.
Give 'em certain of Heinlein's work, that's guy-novels and will warp their little minds.

Don't disagree there. :-)

Like that... good call. :-)
I'm not sure, but that might have been the first novel I ever read, after The Hobbit.

Absolutely. Or any of at least half a dozen others, with another half-dozen once the hook's in 'em. My first piece of SF was Heinlein's "Tunnel in the Sky". Most of his juveniles weren't in print right then, so for the next two years I'd find one at a used bookstore or in the library now and then and it would be a great day.

Evil Harry Potter question...wife is reading now...
Page 270 bottom of the page. Harry and Dumbledore are looking in the pensieve. The scene is Dumbledor with Tom Riddle. And it says something like Riddle looked between the two Dumbledores...
Could he see Dumbledore? Aren't they supposed to not be seen?

I've read 'em plenty of Hardy Boys...
And The Bronze Bow...it's a good "boy" book but I loved it when I was a kid and Steve read it shortly after we got married and enjoyed it, even as an adult.

The BA CHEF re-organizational meeting has been set for tomorrow night. I just posted it in the egroup.
Hopefully afterward I won't feel so at loose ends. Once again, I'm reminded of that quote from "The Once and Future King."
"Perhaps we give the best of our hearts, uncritically--to those who hardly think of us in return." TH White
It seems to me, sometimes, that people I care deeply about find it amazingly easy to cast me aside.

This is the essence of heartbreak, and why it hurts as bad as it does. Heartbreak is found in the discovery that someone is willing to crush something you thought was valuable, but they never did.
Not that I've ever been there, or anything.

Good Morning!
Yesterday was not Scottish* (thanks Ruthie) for just about everyone, I see.
Well...it's a new day...that the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Goooooood morning! Izzit Friday yet? I only have two teleconferences today - which I like because I don't have to wear heels - and no serious smackdowns planned. So the odds of it being a good day are pretty good.
What's "Scottish", Precious?
To: 2Jedismom
I'm reading Anne of Green Gables to the jedis We started A Murder for Her Majesty and I...I mean the kids, can hardly put it down..."read another chapter please"......." ok, but you'll have to keep cleaning while I read." At this rate, we'll easy be able to keep the whole house clean!
