The Hobbit Hole XXIII - Let them go! Let them go!
Posted on 07/12/2005 8:11:36 PM PDT by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Let them go! Let them go!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

It was pretty funny...
He's fine. He helped me hoist up the chicken coop and set it on the ground today...scratched himself pretty good on some of the chicken wire, I wouldn't have even known if I hadn't seen it. Clear up his side, from above his hip up toward his armpit.

[sniff] Unexploded ordnance is not happy ordnance. Happy ordnance is fulfilled in its mission to 'splode.
There must be some kind of Zen for this sort of thing. The Chi of explosives expands rapidly outward in all directions... that sort of thing. "Why yes, our artillery range is Feng Shui... why do you ask?"

Heh heh!!
Well, I just checked on the girls...they're settling into the newly lowered coop just fine. Working out where everyone is going to sleep and such.
Steve might be home any minute...I should log off. He usually comes in around 9pm...sometimes late, around 10pm and sometimes really really late, between 11pm and midnight, depending on if the copy is due.
I think this copy...which is hopefully the final copy, goes in the end of next week.
I think.

What is the deal with PayPal "e-checks"? Why would someone opt to be paid with one and not an instant transfer? If you don't have a credit card for "backup", or don't want to use it for that, PayPal can withdraw directly from your bank account. Under the new federal law, they get instant access to that amount, but then sit on it longer for their "float".
An echeck is a way of "pretending" you have a credit card, but is processed more slowly. And PayPal doesn't have to pay a credit card company for the process. PayPal gets a great rate, due to its size, but you can't beat "free".

Yeah, I can understand someone wanting to use e-checks, but what is the benefit for the person only accepting an e-check? That's what this lady had in her auction...e-checks only accepted. I coulda give her an instant transfer and she'd been paid days ago.

Cool... Specter wunzero.
Like they say, there's 10 kinds of people in the world. Those to count in binary and those who don't.

That's what this lady had in her auction...e-checks only accepted.I think that means she has no credit card on her end. So echecks are the only way she can go. Still not a bad deal if one or both parties don't use credit cards.
